Rick, need your help. I upgraded my 'nero' account to silver.

I then added an account under my full name (copper) but when I went to upgrade it to gold, it wouldn't let me do it. 'Said 'same id'???

I prefer to have separate accounts and not just one account with different e-mail addresses under it. It may be wasteful to you but it's important to me. I want to get rid of all my other separate accounts (operamail, etc) and have them duplicated for now and slowly cancell the originals.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to use a different credit card for each account? Do I need to wait a day or two for a reset of the credit card function of your computer? What?

Thanks

nero

Hi,

It's ok if you have multiple separate accounts. Aliases don't really save anything on this end - MAYBE 500 bytes - they just allow for a single point of maintenance for the user. If you find it easier to manage to separate accounts, it's not a problem.

Did use the back button when you tried to do the upgrade? If you do, then the transaction ID is NOT re-generated and that will cause an error.

Try and reload the Upgrade page entirely.

Rick

Rick,

For what it's worth...different day...same problem...had to use another credit card. I'll run out of cards before I finish transferring all my accounts doing things this way.

Hi,

Did you do something differently? I see two were upgraded with a single credit card, and a 3rd with a different card.

What browser are you using? I really think the problem is a cached page. I added some directives to manually tell all browsers to not cache that page. Maybe that will help.

Rick

Actually, I use FireFox 3 on Linux with no passwords, cookies or private data saved when quitting the program. All should be clean every time I restart. Strange, but at least I accomplished my mission.

Now comes the hard part--changing all e-mail addresses from account to account.

One last request, I hope, for info about vfemail accounts: How long does it take to go from copper to silver? Two of my four accounts have changed but two others haven't as yet? Just wondering if there are any problems.

'May have to upgrade one account to gold soon! Gotta cut back. It seems like I spend half my day reading and answering e-mails.

Thanks again for providing such an inexpensive, utile service.

Since these are newer accounts, I've had to manually verify them.

Could you please email me (admin@vfemail.net) a list of accounts that you don't see as being upgraded? I thought I caught them all. Unfortunately there's a lot of fraud - and it took me a minute to even realize yours were valid.

Rick
